Before you shoot

Run through these the night before so the shoot itself stays fast.

  • Prepare six complementary outfits. Select one formal headshot outfit, two smart-casual looks, one upscale evening outfit, and two lifestyle/active looks so each of The League’s six photos shows a different facet of your life while keeping a polished aesthetic.
  • Book a short professional session. Invest in at least one 60–90 minute session with a portrait photographer who understands executive headshots; professional lighting rapidly produces the quality The League expects and helps with direction for subtle achievement cues.
  • Scout and reserve upscale locations. Choose venues like boutique hotels, rooftop bars, private clubs, or architecturally clean city streets and confirm permissions or reservations ahead of shooting to avoid denied access or messy backgrounds.
  • Groom and prepare details the day before. Get hair, facial grooming, and garment steaming done the day prior; polish shoes and accessories and bring a lint roller and small sewing kit to maintain a clean, high-polish look on set.
  • Prepare a shot order and timing plan. Plan which six final photos you want and schedule them in an efficient order (e.g., headshot first, then evening looks) to reduce outfit changes and capture best light for each scene.
